The Black Out: You know, the power went out days ago. The wind beat the windows till they bled, spiderwebs stretched across their empty faces. Shaking, they allowed the tears from outside pool darkly on our floor. There was no warmth where we lay, Our thin sheets not disguising us from it’s freezing breath. Heavy it hung around our shoulders, gathering on the raw floor, coiling around exposed ankles. The dim milky light of a lonely moon. The only thing accompanying us. The darkness and I sat in solitude.
